Everything You Need to Know Before Moving in Orlando

Honest answers to the questions we hear most from local homeowners, renters, and businesses.

When is the best time to schedule a move in Orlando?

Spring and fall offer the mildest weather, but summer is our busiest season. We recommend booking 3–4 weeks ahead for May through September. Winter moves are lighter and often easier to schedule on short notice.

Do you charge extra for stairs or elevators?

No. Our hourly rates already include stairs, elevators, and standard walkways. Only extreme situations — like a sixth-floor walkup with no elevator — would be discussed upfront.

How does Orlando summer heat affect my move?

Our crews take hydration breaks, use shaded loading zones when possible, and wrap temperature-sensitive items like electronics and artwork with extra care. We also avoid scheduling midday outdoor loading during heat advisories.

Can you move items from a storage unit?

Absolutely. We meet you at any Orlando-area storage facility, load your belongings, and transport them to your new home or office. Just confirm gate access and elevator hours with your facility ahead of time.

What happens if my new build or apartment isn't ready on move-in day?

We offer temporary storage at partner facilities near Orlando. Your belongings stay secure and climate-controlled, and we reschedule delivery within 48 hours of your new ready date.

Do you handle moves during Florida's afternoon thunderstorms?

Yes, with precautions. We use waterproof tarps, plastic sheeting, and covered walkways. If lightning is active near the truck, we pause loading until it’s safe to continue.

How do you protect hardwood floors in Orlando homes?

We lay down heavy-duty floor runners and corner guards at every entry point. All moving equipment has rubber soles, and furniture is carried — never dragged — across finished floors.

Can you move a hot tub or large safe?

Yes, but we need advance notice. Hot tubs must be drained and disconnected by you before we arrive. Safes require weight confirmation and a clear path. We’ll send a specialist team for either.

Do you offer packing help for last-minute movers?

We do. Our rapid packing team can arrive the same day with boxes, tape, and bubble wrap. Most one-bedroom apartments can be fully packed in 3–4 hours.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancel up to 7 days before your move for a full refund of any deposit. Within 7 days, we keep 25% to hold your time slot. Same-day cancellations may be charged 50% if our crew has already departed.

Do you move pets or plants?

We cannot transport live animals for safety reasons. Plants under 6 feet tall are fine, but we recommend moving them yourself during summer heat. We don’t guarantee plant survival due to temperature changes in the truck.

How do you handle gated communities in Orlando?

Provide us with gate codes or guest passes at least 24 hours before the move. If your HOA requires elevator reservations or moving fees, you’re responsible for arranging those ahead of time.

What's the largest truck you use for residential moves?

Our largest is a 26-foot box truck, which handles 4–5 bedroom homes. For mansions or large commercial moves, we send multiple trucks or make two trips. We never overload a single vehicle.

Can you move my car or motorcycle?

We don’t transport cars, but we can move motorcycles if drained of fuel and properly secured. For car shipping, we can recommend trusted auto transport partners who serve the Orlando area.

Do you disassemble IKEA or other flat-pack furniture?

Yes, but with a note — IKEA furniture can be fragile. We disassemble carefully and bag all hardware. Reassembly at your new home takes extra time, so let us know when you book.

How do you handle moves from high-rises downtown?

We coordinate with building management for elevator reservations and loading dock access. Our crews use padded furniture covers to protect elevator walls, and we work within the building’s strict time windows.

What items do you refuse to move?

Hazardous chemicals, propane tanks, gasoline, paint thinner, ammunition, perishable food, and live plants over 6 feet tall. If you’re unsure about an item, text us a photo before moving day.

Do you provide packing supplies if I pack myself?

Yes. We sell moving boxes, tape, bubble wrap, mattress bags, and wardrobe boxes at our warehouse. You can pick them up or have them delivered to your Orlando address for a small fee.

How far in advance do you arrive on moving day?

We text you when the crew is 30 minutes out, then again at 10 minutes. We’ve never been more than 20 minutes late for a scheduled start time in the last two years.

Do you offer discounts for seniors or military?

Yes — 10% off for seniors (65+) and active-duty military with valid ID. The discount applies to labor only, not materials or long-distance mileage. Mention it when you request your quote.

Can you move just one large item like a piano or pool table?

Absolutely. We do single-item moves for pianos, pool tables, safes, and large appliances. The minimum charge is two hours plus any specialized equipment fees.

What happens if my elevator breaks on moving day?

We wait up to one hour for repairs. If the elevator stays down, we’ll discuss options — using stairs (additional hourly rate may apply) or rescheduling. For high-rises, we strongly recommend confirming elevator status the morning of your move.

Do you offer weekend or holiday moving in Orlando?

Yes. Saturday and Sunday moves are available year-round. We also move on most holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, etc.) with the same hourly rates — no holiday surcharge.
